One person's thoughts on a whole lot of books
Tag Archives: cyberpunk
From the back of the book:
Avery Cates is a very bad man. Some might call him a criminal. He might even be a killer – for the Right Price. But right now, Avery Cates is scared. He’s up against the Monks: cyborgs with human brains, enhanced robotic bodies, and a small arsenal of advanced weaponry. Their mission is to convert anyone and everyone to the Electric Church. But there is just one snag: Conversion means death.
My Rating: 4 out of 5
How I got it: Received from a Goodreads.com giveaway
Fast, fun, and action packed. I enjoyed this. The actions scenes were exciting, and I did end up liking the characters, well, as much as you can like the bad guys. The use of expletives was almost too much for my personal liking, but it eased up later in the book. The violence was usually quite graphic. If you’re the type of person that can’t handle blood and violence, then this may not be for you. But, if you love action movies (like I do), then you may want to check this out. I wish I were able to compare this to others works of cyberpunk, but since they are sitting in my pile of books to read, I can’t help with that aspect. Will I be reading the next one? Yes, I’m definitely looking forward to it.
