One person's thoughts on a whole lot of books

From the back of the book:
Philip Palmer turns science fiction on its head in this breathtaking thrill ride through alien jungles filled with terrifying monsters and killer robots. Space marines and science heroes! Gryphons and Godzillas! It’s all here in this gripping tale of man versus nature.
How I got it: bought
I wasn’t quite prepared for how much this resembled a Discovery Channel special. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed all of the different creatures that appear throughout the book. In fact, it’s what I liked the most. The thorough descriptions of the very extreme natural alien wildlife was really interesting. I didn’t like the multiple points of view. It seems like every character has their own moment to shine, even though that character may appear only once. The point of view changed at least three times on one page. And it didn’t happen just one time. It got tiring trying to keep up with everyone. That’s what ultimately gave this a lower rating. Maybe if I didn’t feel like I may have missed something while trying to keep up with all of the narratives, I would have given this a higher rating. Glad I read it? Ultimately, yes.
